This ministry started in the quiet spaces where the noise finally stopped.
I didn’t set out to build a platform. I just wanted a safe place to breathe, to protect what matters most, and to remind my children that goodness is still real.
THE NARRATIVE
There was no clean way through.
I did not set out to build a ministry. I set out to survive long enough to keep a little tenderness alive for my kids.
Life has a way of stripping away everything you thought was permanent. When the structures you trusted shift, and when you find yourself walking through seasons where everything familiar is upended, the world gets very loud. In those moments, it is entirely too easy to let cynicism take over and to build walls high enough to keep everyone out.
But my son and my daughter taught me a different way. Protecting their peace, keeping our home a steady place of laughter and safety when the outside world felt chaotic, became my true north. It taught me that real strength isn’t about having all the answers or putting on a brave face. It’s about showing up day after day, keeping your heart soft, and refusing to let the hard things steal your capacity to care.
Reluctant Bible People & Co. was born out of that quiet refusal to give up on grace. It is not a performance or a brand. It is a resting place for the real ones—parents doing their best for their kids, people who are tired of pretending, and anyone looking for a room where they don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I don’t have a map for every hard road, but I can promise you this: when you walk through that door, you won’t be asked to perform, and you won’t be alone.
